Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication
No . 3329 , reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication No. 3329 is to recommend the
appointment of Mr . Angel B. Ramos to the Tax Board of Review:
Mr . Ramos , a Democrat from Kona, to fill the expired
term of Keith T. Burley, for a term ending
December 31, 1996 . Mr . Ramos is the administrator of
Hillhaven Kona Health Care Center .
Born in the Philippines, Mr. Ramos received a Bachelor of Science
degree in medical technology, and a master in public health from the
University of Hawaii at Manoa . He is a member of the Kona Rotary
Club, Kona Lions Club, and the Filipino Organization of Kona .
Your Committee learned that the appointee is not an employee of the
County of Hawaii and advised the appointee of individual
responsibility to attend each session of the Board and to arrive on
time.
Pursuant to Section 19-96, of the Hawaii County Code, the Mayor
shall appoint members to the Board to be confirmed by Council, as
prescribed in Section 13-4 of the Hawaii County Charter .
Your Committee on Finance recommends approval of the appointment of
Mr . Angel B. Ramos to the Tax Board of Review for a term ending
December 31, 1996 .
