Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication
No .' 3274, reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication No . 3274 is to recommend the
appointment of the following to the Board of Ethics :
Ms . Glenetta Bennett, a Democrat from Volcano, to fill
the expired term of Daniel A. Barnes, for a term
ending December 31, 1996 . Ms . Bennett is owner of
Bennett Properties .
Born in Arkansas, Ms . Bennett attended Fresno Community College in
California, and has lived on the Island of Hawaii for the past
11 years . She is past president of the Hawaii Island Board of
Realtors, director of the Hawaii Association of Realtors, and is a
member of the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce, National
Association of Realtors, and Kanoelehua Industrial Area Association.
Your Committee questioned Ms . Bennett about whether she is employed
by Hawaii County who responded in the negative. She was also asked
whether she could attend all meetings of the Board and be on time.
She responded in the affirmative. .
Your Committee on Finance recommends approval of the appointment of
Glenetta Bennett to the Board of Ethics for a term ending
December 31, 1996 .
