Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication
No . 3194 , reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication No. 3194 is to recommend the
appointment of the following to the Liquor Commission:
Mrs . Eleanor J. G. Morita, a democrat from Keaau, to fill the
vacancy of Ms . Helen Y. Yamada, for a term ending December 31,
1996 . Mrs . Morita is a Spanish and English teacher at Pahoa High
and Elementary School . She is presently a member of the Hawaii
State Teachers Association, the Hawaii Association of Language
Teachers, the Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese, and
the United Puerto Rican Association of Hawaii .
Your Committee advised the appointee of individual responsibility to
attend each session of the commission and to arrive on time. Your
Committee directed her to actively participate and vote her
conscience on all issues brought before her .
Pursuant to Section 7-3 . 2 of the Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor
shall appoint members to the Commission to be confirmed by the
Council, as prescribed in Section 13-4 of the Hawaii County Charter .
Your Committee on Finance recommends approval of the appointment of
Eleanor J. G. Morita to the Liquor Commission for a term ending
December 31, 1996 .
