Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication
No .'- 3191, reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication No. 3191 is to recommend the
appointment of the following to the Pension Board:
Mr . Faustino Domingo, a democrat from Keaau, to fill the vacancy of
Mrs . Beatrice L. Lau, for a term ending December 31, 1996 .
Mr . Domingo is a power plant operator at Hilo Coast Processing . He
is field representative of the Papaya Administrative Committee on
the Island of Hawaii ; member of the ILWU; United Filipino Council of
Hawaii ; and the Big Island Filipino Community Council .
Pursuant to Section 5-3 .4 of the Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor
shall appoint members to the Board to be confirmed by the Council,
as prescribed in Section 13-4 of the Hawaii County Charter .
Your Committee advised the appointee, who is not an employee of the
County of Hawaii , of individual responsibility to attend each
session of the board and to be on time. Your Committee directed him
to actively participate and vote his conscience on all issues
brought before him.
Your Committee on Finance recommends approval of the appointment of
Faustino Domingo to the Pension Board for a term ending December 31,
1996 .
