Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 501, reports
as follows :
Bill 501 proposes to amend Ordinance 91-50, the Operating Budget for
Fiscal Year 1991-92, by increasing revenues in General Fund Account
No . 3301 . 95, FEDERAL GRANTS-MARIJUANA ERADICATION, by $53 ,200 . 00,
and appropriating same to the following account :

010-201-5218 . 82-115 Marijuana Eradication 1991 $53 , 200 . 00
Communication No . 2951, dated October 5, 1991 from Director of
Finance transmits said Bill No. 501 and other departmental
justification and information which explains increased revenues are
due to receiving higher than anticipated award of federal
grant-in-aid from the Drug Enforcement Agency. Funds are to be used
to defray cost relating to eradication and suppression of illicit
marijuana cultivation under the guidelines of agreement Number 91-34 .
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill 501 and recommends that it pass first reading.
