Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication
/No. 2791, reports as follows :
Communication No . 2791, dated August 15, 1991, from the Director of
Parks and Recreation, requests Council accept painted portraits of
Mr. Ung Soy "Beans" Afook and Mr. Richard Kiyoshi "Pablo" Chinen to
be hung in the Afook-Chinen Auditorium. She states, KTA Super
Stores and Sure Save Supermarkets have offered to donate the
portraits and contracted artist Chris Campbell to paint the
portraits .
Pursuant to Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends acceptance of the donation and
that a letter of appreciation be forwarded to Managers of KTA Super
Stores, 50 E. Puainako Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720, and Sure Save
Supermarkets, 777 Kilauea Avenue, Hilo., Hawaii 96720 .
