Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill 453, reports
as follows :
Bill 453 proposes to amend Ordinance 91-50, the Operating Budget for
Fiscal Year 1991-92, by increasing revenues in General Fund Account
No. 3607 . 00, Contribution From Private Source, by $1, 025 . 00, and
appropriating same to the following new account:

010-523-5523 .46-341 Zoo Private Donations $1, 025 . 00
Communication No. 2647 from the Finance Director dated July 1, 1991,
states a check in the amount of $1, 025 . 00 was received from The
Friends of Panaewa Zoo, as per agreement dated September 22, 1988
whereby one-half of the net profits for merchandise sales from the
Panaewa Zoo Gift Shop would be returned to the County.
Your Committee was informed that financial reports are submitted to
the Department of Parks and Recreation for review. However, when
questioned who verifies these reports, the department' s deputy
director was not sure. The $1, 025 amount represents one-half the
1990-1991 fiscal year ' s sales . Funds will be retained by Parks and
Recreation and used specifically for activities supporting the
operation of the zoo.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the intent and purpose
of Bill 453 and recommends that it pass first reading .
