Communication No. 2622 from Robert Shioji , Deputy County Clerk,
dated June 13 , 1991, transmits for Council consideration Resolution
No . 337-91, amending Salary Ordinance 91-52, by changing the
position of Administrative Assistant to the Council Chairperson
(LR-1 ) to Executive Assistant to the Council Chairman (EA) .
Your Commmittee was informed that the Civil Service Director
reviewed the present duties and responsibilities of the
Administrative Assistant to the Council Chairperson and recommended
the proposed change in position classification and pay grade .
Your Committee was informed that a Council Executive Committee
composed of the Council Chair and Vice Chair; Clerk and Deputy
Clerk; and Legislative Auditor meet weekly to discuss Council Clerk
services and organizational efficiency. The Committee is in the
process of evaluating positions which are supervisory but not
classified as such under the present system. Resolution No. 337
addresses one of the positions which warrant upgrading . We were
informed that the Committee is considering upgrading other similar
positions in the Council and Committee Services sections .
Your Committee acknowledges Resolution No. 337 contained
typographical and format errors and was amended by way of Resolution
No . 337, Draft 2 .
Your Committee on Finance concurs with the intent of Resolution
No. 337 , Draft 2 , and recommends its adoption.
