Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication
No . 2467, reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication No . 2467 is to recommend the following
appointment:
PENSION BOARD
Mr . Robert D. Aeder, an independent from Kailua, Kona, to fill the
unexpired term of Charles E. Gibb, who resigned to serve on the
Hawaii County Reapportionment Commission. Mr. Aeder will serve
until December 31, 1994 .
Mr. Aeder, originally from San Diego, California, moved to Hawaii in
1982 and has been a resident of Kona for a period of four years .
Retired from IBM Corp. , he currently teaches computer service
courses on a part-time basis in Kona, UHH.
According to Section 5-3 .4, Hawaii County Charter, the Mayor shall
appoint members to the Commission to be confirmed by the Council, as
prescribed in Section 13-4 . The pension board shall assume the
duties and functions of the pension board of the county and the
board of trustees of the policeman, fireman, and bandsman as
provided by law and shall be attached to the department of finance.
Your Committee on Finance recommends approval of the appointment of
Mr . Robert D. Aeder to the Pension Board.
