Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No . 408,
reports as follows :
Your Committee was informed by the Finance Director that the Hilo
Downtown Improvement Association has donated $100 to the Hawaii
County Band for its Christmas performance at the Palace Theatre, and
requests the Council accept and adopt the ordinance appropriating
the donation to the Hawaii County Band Private Donations,
miscellaneous charges account .
Pursuant to Section 13-12, Hawaii County Charter, the Council, on
behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donation.
Your Committee on Finance recommends acceptance of the donation and
recommends that Bill 408 pass first reading . Further, recommends
that a letter of appreciation be forwarded to the Hilo Downtown
Improvement Association.
