Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication
No. 2284 , reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication No. 2284 is to recommend the appointment
of the following:
Tax Board of Review
Mrs . K. T. Cannon-Eger, a democrat from Puna, to
fill the vacancy of Ms . Betty J. Fields, for a
term ending December 31, 1995 . Mrs . Cannon-Eger
is a writer and photographer of Cannon and Eger
Public Relations .
Pursuant to Section 19-96 of the Hawaii County
Code, the Mayor shall appoint members to the
Commission to be confirmed by the Council, as
prescribed in Section 13-4 of the Hawaii County
Charter .
Your Committee advised the appointee of individual responsibility to
attend each session of the board and directed her to actively
participate and vote her conscience on all issues brought before her .
Your Committee heard from the appointee about her personal
qualifications . She is presently treasurer of the Hawaiian Paradise
Park Property Owners Association; member of the Big Island Business
and Professional Women' s Club; past member of the Maui Citizens
Advisory Commission; and past chairperson of the State Library
Advisory Commission.
Your Committee on Finan a recommends approval of the appointment of
Mrs . K. T. Cannon-Eger to the Tax B ar of Review.
