Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication
No . 2284 , reports as follows :
The purpose of Communication No. 2284 is to recommend the
appointment of the following:
Pension Board
Mr . Ciriako Coloma, an independent from Hilo, to
fill the vacancy of Mr. Tito Nicolas, for a term
ending December 31, 1995 . Mr. Coloma retired
from the State of Hawaii , Hilo Hospital .
Pursuant to Section 5-3 .4 of the Hawaii County
Charter, the Mayor shall appoint members to the
Commission to be confirmed by the Council, as
prescribed in Section 13-4 of the Hawaii County
Charter.
The Committee advised the appointee of his individual responsibility
to attend each session of the board and directed him to actively
participate and vote his conscience on all issues brought before him.
Your Committee heard from the appointee about his personal
qualifications . He worked at Hilo Hospital for 37 years, both as a
State and County employee.
Your Committee on Finance recommends approval of the appointment
Mr . Ciriako Coloma to the Pension Board.
