URGENT ACTION NEEDED
The $30 Million bond float contemplated by the Hawaii County Council does not contain any
provision for funding a solid waste transfer station for Hawaiian Ocean View Estates area,
despite Councilwoman Julie Jacobson's efforts (the drafting and passing of a bill by the full
council).
This is the only project that was removed from the bond list put forward by the council. I strongly
feel there is a great need for this transfer station rani «ucycling station. The cost of random
dumping, and eyesores created by such dumping must end. I find it outrageous that District 6
has virtually no benefit from this bond float. Safely disposing of rubbish and diverting
recyclables from the waste stream is very important to members of the HOVE area community
and the whole island.
Ignoring our needs in order to fund less basic needs in other districts is not right.
