Dear Chairman Arakaki and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to submit the nomination of Kevin M. Balog of Hamakua to the
1999 Hawaii County Charter Commission.
Mr. Balog is a 31 -year resident of Hawaii, and since 1986, has been the
Operations Manager for Edwin De Luz Ranch. He is a member of the Hamakua
Business Association, the Kalopa Community Association, and the Hamakua
Lions Club. He is a Democrat.
If approved, Mr. Balog will serve as one of the five at -large members of this
commission, and will serve until the amendments, if any, are ratified or rejected,
and that date would be after the General Election in the year 2000.
