RESOLUTION NO. 489 14
RESOLUTION TO AMEND RESOLUTION NO. 294-14 BY INCREASING THE LEASE
COST CAP FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR ONE (1) FIRE APPARATUS (TANKER
TRUCK) FOR THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 294-14, adopted by the Hawaii County Council on February 19,
2014, authorized the payment of funds of a later fiscal year and more than one fiscal year for a
multi-year lease of one (1) fire apparatus (tanker truck) for the Hawaii Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Resolution 294-14 authorized the Hawaii Fire Department to enter into a five (5)
year lease for a tanker truck at a cost not to exceed $7,000 per month; and
WHEREAS, the actual outcome from the competitive bid process resulted in an awarded bid
which specifies a lease cost of$7,159.42 per month; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, that this
apparatus shall be leased for a period of five (5) years at a cost not to exceed $7,159.42 per
month.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit
copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Finance Department, and to the Hawaii
Fire Department.
