RESOLUTION NO. 85 99
RBSOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF HAWAII TO ENTER INTO AN AGREfilIENT WITH THE
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A FiNRIJUANA ERADICATION GRANT.
WHEREAS, the United States of America through the State Department of
Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration, is desirous of providing funding Eor
expenses incurred to investigate, eradicate and suppress the cultivation and
trafficking of controlled substances; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed
with its obligations under the Marijuana Eradication Program; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the
Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii
providing the expenditures or receipt of funds or for other assistance;
NOW, THHREFORH B6 IT RHSOLYED BY TH6 COUNCIL OF TH6 COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated to sign in the
name of the County Project Number 99-38, which will effectuate these purposes.
BB IT FURTHER RHSOLVHD, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to forward
copies of this Resolution to said lSayor Yamashiro, the Chief of Police, and any other
interested governmental agencies.
