RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THH COURTY OF HAWAII TO HNTHR IRTO AN AGR66HHNT WITH THH
UNITBD STATHS OF AHHRICA, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A MARIJUANA ERADICATION GRANT.
WHHRHAS, the United States of America through the U.S. Department of
Justice, Drug Enforcement Administration, is desirous of providing funding for
expenses incurred to investigate, eradicate and suppress the cultivation and
trafficking of controlled substances; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department is ready and willing to proceed
with its obligations under the Marijuana Bradication Program; and
WHHRHAS, pursuant to Sections 46-7 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes, the
Federal government may enter into agreements with the Council of the County of Hawaii
providing the expenditures or receipt of funds or for other assistance;
NOW, THBRHFORH BH IT RHSOLVBO BY THH COUNCIL OF THH COUNTY OF HAWAII that
the Honorable Stephen K. Yamashiro is hereby authorized and designated to sign in the
name of the County Project Number 99-38, which will effectuate these purposes.
BH IT FURTHHR RHSOLVHD, that the County Clerk is hereby directed to Eocward
copies of this Resolution to said Mayor Yamashiro, the Chief of Police, and any other
interested governmental agencies.
