Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 273, reports as follows:
Bill No. 273, transmitted jointly with Resolution No. 473-14, by Finance Director Nancy Crawford via
Communication No. 952 dated July 18, 2014, amends Ordinance No. 14-81, as amended, the Operating
Budget for the County of Hawai`i for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2015. The amendment is as follows:
From:
010.3305.85 State Grants—LFA Control—HISC General $ 175,000
To:
010.500.5505.79 LFA Control —HISC General $ 175,000
The funds would be used to hire up to three employees and provide them with equipment and materials to
control the fire ant at Parks and Recreation Department facilities.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Pursuant to Section 46-7, Hawai`i Revised Statutes, County departments must obtain the consent of the
Council to enter into agreements with the Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken
pursuant to any powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in
connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 273, and recommends its
passage on first reading.
