Your Committee on Finance,to which was referred Bill No. 276, reports as follows:
Bill No. 276,transmitted by Finance Director Nancy Crawford, via Communication No. 955 dated
July 18, 2014, amends Ordinance No. 14-82, as amended, relating to public improvements and financing
thereof for the fiscal year July 1, 2014, to June 30, 2015. The amendment is as follows:
PUBLIC WORKS:
Painted Church Road Safety Improvements
(110.388.5386.23) $ 142,000
Funds for this appropriation increase shall be provided from:
General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund -
Fund Balance and/or Other Sources $ 142,000
Funds would be used to increase intersection site distance, eliminate thru traffic stop signs, and relocate
utilities.
Council Member Ford expressed her gratitude to the Department of Public Works and to Civil Engineer
Ronald Thiel for their efforts in moving the.District 6 project forward.
Pursuant to Section 10-6(d), Hawai`i County Charter,the Council may amend the Capital Budget for
that year with a two-thirds vote.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 276, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
