Goals: To continue implementation of the COH Intelligent Transportation
Systems
Objectives: Development of an ITS Communications Plan to support future ITS field
devices and where future wire-based and wireless communications should be implemented&
associated costs.
Outcomes or Results: The delivery of the COH ITS Communications Plan that incorporates baseline
assessments,planning and design of the communications network and implementation strategy. This
communications plan works with the long-range ITS Architecture strategy with goals to enhance the
safety and efficiency of traffic signal operations, improve the capability to inform public in real-time of
traffic/travel conditions and improve the capability to support local emergency response.
