Dear Chairman Yoshimoto and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Mr. Donald Ikeda of the South Hilo District to the County
of Hawaii Windward Planning Commission. Mr. Ikeda is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i.
He was employed by the County of Hawaii from 1992 to 2012, serving as a member of
the Hawaii County Council from 2004 to 2012.
Mr. Ikeda is the past president of Kaumana Elementary School and past treasurer of
Hilo Intermediate School. He is also a former member of the Hawaii Island Red Cross
Disaster Team. He states that he is a Democrat. If confirmed, Mr. Ikeda will serve a
term to expire on March 31, 2019, replacing Wallace Ishibashi whose term expired on
March 31, 2014.
