Re: 690.14 from Council Member Zendo Kern dated May 21,2014 proposed transmitting amendment
to add to the Public Works Department's South Lauko Road Connectivity Project in the amount of$g
million. W
I fully support Zendo Kern's timely proposed amendment to add to the DPW budget for the inclusion
and completion of the South Lauko Road Connectivity Project. This funding is crucial.
Reopening South Lauko Road is crucial for the following reasons:
a)The provision of a safe access road is needed in order to reduce the present hazardous traffic patterns
for children and parents' during transit to and from the Mountain View Elementary School. South Lauko
Road is a safe and direct route which bypasses the need for children and parents to cross the busy
highway.
b) Re-opening South Lauko Road is crucial for the families of Fern Acres and Fern Forest in case of
emergency, e.g.,fire.
c) Re-opening South Lauko Road will provide direct access for families to the Mountain View Village
business district, thereby enhancing its growth and development.
