J�t�Gs N�1 <br /> � -uy• ••�Idi�i <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII 44 j % : STATE OF HAWAII <br /> ' ''•os'N►'� . <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 534 14 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII COUNTY <br /> ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL TO PURCHASE CITRIC ACID TO <br /> CONTROL THE COQUI FROG INFESTATION. <br /> WHEREAS, there has been an infestation of coqui frogs on the Island of Hawai`i and <br /> residents have been challenged with the noise and nuisance caused by these frogs; and <br /> WHEREAS, the coqui frogs negatively affect Hawai`i Island's economy, environment <br /> and quality of life; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i County Economic Opportunity Council (HCEOC) will use <br /> funds to provide citric acid at a reasonable cost; and <br /> WHERAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency <br /> Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting county department/agency via resolution <br /> identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program,project, event, activity, service, <br /> equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to purchase citric acid to <br /> control the coqui frog infestation in North and South Kona, Ka`u, and greater Volcano areas of <br /> Council Districts 6, 7, and 8; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br /> FUND: GENERAL <br /> AMOUNT OF <br /> APPROPRIATION: $2,000 <br /> OUT AND FROM: <br /> 010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $2,000 <br />
