Currently, the County provides a vehicle and driver to <br /> transport these laborers to and from project worksites because the HCCC does not have a vehicle <br /> to do so. <br /> The County of Hawai`i's Mass Transit Agency has a 1994 van that was scheduled for disposal by <br /> auction. In lieu of disposal, we request that this van be donated to the State of Hawai`i Department <br /> of Public Safety so that the HCCC may provide the transportation described above. <br /> Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawai`i <br /> Department of Public Safety in order to donate this vehicle for their use, and to provide <br /> indemnification for the County regarding the transaction.
