RESOLUTION NO. 532 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII
COUNTY ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL FOR THE PURCHASE OF CITRIC
ACID TO HELP CONTROL THE COQUI FROG INFESTATION IN DISTRICT 1.
WHEREAS, District 1 has experienced an infestation of coqui frogs and is challenged
with the noise and nuisance that theses frogs are causing; and
WHEREAS, the coqui frogs negatively affect Hawai`i Island's economy, environment
and quality of life; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development will collaborate with the
Hawai`i County Economic Opportunity Council (HCEOC) to use funds to provide citric acid at a
reasonable cost; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to
the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to HCEOC to purchase citric
acid for District 1; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Research and Development and the Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
