RESOLUTION NO. 538 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION TO PURCHASE FLAGS FOR THE WEST HAWAII VETERANS
CEMETERY.
WHEREAS, the West Hawai`i Veterans' Cemetery Development and Expansion
Association (WHVC) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that is dedicated to our veterans; and
WHEREAS, WHVC is requesting financial assistance to purchase 12 American flags, 12
POW/MIA flags, and 12 State of Hawai`i flags (36 flags total) of a type to be more resistant to
coastal winds and salt. This supply of flags are estimated to last three years; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation to purchase flags for the West Hawai`i Veterans
Cemetery; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Finance and that the
Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the
terms of this resolution.
