SUBJECT: Discussion with members of the Hawai`i State Legislature.
I am requesting at least one hour for a discussion with members of the Hawai`i State
Legislature representing Hawai`i Island. I have sent all members of the delegation an
invitation to this meeting, as noted in the attached sample letter. The two topics of
discussion are:
1) What are the top priorities of the Senate and House for capital improvement
projects on Hawai`i Island?
2) How can we improve communication about legislative proposals that are
sponsored by Hawai`i Island state legislators?
Please place this item on the Governmental Relations and Economic Development
Committee meeting agenda for October 14, 2014, at 9 a.m.

Dear Senator Ruderman,
I would like to continue our relationship between you and my fellow Council members.
You are invited to the Hawaii County Council's Governmental Relations and Economic
Development Committee meeting on October 14 at the West Hawaii Civic Center,
tentatively scheduled for 9 a.m.
The purpose of this discussion is to continue our dialogue between the State and County
legislative branches. The topics are:
1) What are the top priorities of the Senate and the House for capital
improvement projects on Hawaii Island?
2) How can we improve communication about legislative proposals that are
sponsored by Hawaii Island state legislators?
You may also participate via videoconference from the following locations:
