COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII Tl GF•M,•1, RESOLUTION NO. 540 14 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING /APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII COUNTY ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY COUNCIL FOR THE PURCHASE OF CITRIC ACID FOR NORTH AND SOUTH KONA, KA`U, AND THE GREATER VOLCANO AREA OF COUNCIL DISTRICTS 6, 7, AND 8. WHEREAS, Council Districts 6, 7, and 8 have experienced an infestation of coqui frogs and are challenged with the noise and nuisance that these frogs are causing; and WHEREAS, the coqui frogs negatively affect Hawaii Island's economy, environment, and quality of life; and WHEREAS, Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council ( HCEOC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, will assist with the distribution of citric acid to the communities at a reasonable cost; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2- 139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting county department /agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Department of Research and Development to provide a grant to HCEOC to purchase citric acid for Council Districts 6, 7, and 8; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred /appropriated as set forth below: FUND: GENERAL AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $2,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 Clerk- Council SVC — Contingency Relief CREDITED TO: 010.161.5161.22 Department of Research and Development Agriculture R &D OCE 115 Misc.
