SUBJECT: A Resolution to Approve Legislative Proposals for Inclusion in the 2015
Hawai'i State Association of Counties Legislative Package
Attached is a resolution to approve six legislative proposals for inclusion in the 2015
Hawai`i State Association of Counties (HSAC) Legislative Package. The proposals also
require approval by the councils of Maui, Kaua'i and Honolulu before they can be
included in the legislative package.
Due to the November 14, 2014, deadline for the counties to approve the proposed 2015
HSAC Legislative Package, I request that this matter be waived and placed on the
October 15, 2014, Council Agenda.

RE: Resolution No. 545-14 : A Resolution to Approve the Legislative Proposals
For Inclusion in the 2015 Hawai`i State Association of Counties Legislative Package
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Governmental Relations and Economic Development to the full
Council for immediate action. In reviewing this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore
advantageous that approval is granted and the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for
review. However, in the event this request is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the
matter shall be referred to the Committee on Governmental Relations and Economic
Development for placement on its future agenda.
