REGARDING: Comm. No. 1031/Resolution No. 518-14

LOCATION: Council Chambers, Hilo, Hawai`i
TITLE: A Resolution Urging the Water Board of the County of Hawai`i to
Take Any and All Actions Necessary to Acquire Land and Develop a
New Water Well, Reservoir, Supporting Facilities, and a New
Transmission Main in Ocean View, District of Ka`u, Hawaii.
EXPLANATION: From Council Member Brenda Ford, this Resolution urges the
Water Board to authorize the development of Ocean View Well #2, a
reservoir, support facilities, and water main to connect with Ocean
View Well #1 in its five-year plan. It also urges the Water Board to
authorize the acquisition of the land required for development of
Ocean View Well #2 and accessory facilities. It further authorizes the
Department of Water Supply to engineer and construct Ocean View
Well #2 and all accessory facilities.
AMENDMENTS: None
RECOMMENDATION: Your Committee on Agriculture, Water and Energy Sustainability is in
accord with the purpose and intent of Resolution 518-14 and
recommends its adoption.
