RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER
FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-
YEAR LEASE FOR SIX (6) TRUCKS WITH HYDRAULIC COMPACTING
UNITS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or
other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of
more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for
five (5) years, for six (6) three-quarter (3/4) ton pickup trucks with hydraulic compacting units;
and
WHEREAS, this equipment is to be used for transporting personnel to various transfer
stations to compact refuse and recyclables in County refuse trailers and roll off bins; and
WHEREAS, the equipment to be replaced have excessive mileage and are in need of
constant repair; now, therefore;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease
agreement for six (6) three-quarter (3/4) ton pickup trucks with hydraulic
compacting units for the Department of Environmental Management.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall
transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, the Finance Department, and
to the Department of Environmental Management.
