Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, which
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and with
(2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (b), of the Hawai`i County Code, which states that a gift
or donation of money, securities, or personal property not covered by the capitalization
procedures (of the Department of Finance) shall be submitted to the Council by letter for its
approval, we request the Council's approval of the following donation:
A Troy BILT XP 3000 pressure washer,with a value of$394.79 donated by the Friends of
Kona Community Aquatic Center at 73-4328 Pa`ani Place, Kailua-Kona, HI 96740. This
equipment will be used exclusively at the Kona Community Aquatic Center.
Please send a letter of appreciation to the Friends of Kona Community Aquatic Center at the
address provided above. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call Reid Sewake of
the Department of Parks and Recreation at 961-8560.

A. REQUEST:
To accept the donation of a Troy BILT XP 3000 Pressure Washer from the Friends of Kona Community
Aquatic Center at 73-4328 Paani Place, Kailua-Kona. This pressure washer shall be utilized for the
exclusive use at the Kona Community Aquatic Center assist the County to provide a clean facility for the
public. The value of the pressure washer is $394.79.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Friends of Kona Community Aquatic Center at 73-4328 Paani Place, Kailua-Kona is donating a Troy
BILT XP 3000 pressure washer to assist the County in maintaining a clean and safe facility for the public.
This pressure wash shall be used for the exclusive use of the Kona Community Aquatic Center.

Friends of Kona Community Aquatic Center has donated a TROY-
BILT XP 3000 Pressure Washer to Kona Commuity Aquatic Center
for their exclusive use at their facility.
This donation will provide for a clean pool deck, restroom and shower
facility for the public.
Helping to make a pleasant pool atmosphere at Kona Community
Aquatic Center for fitness as well as individual enjoyment is a goal of
our organization.
Friends of Kona Community Aquatic Center is a section 501(c)(3)
nonprofit. Our Federal tax ID # is 90-0679112.

RE: Communication No. 1120 : A Communication Authorizing the Acceptance of a
Donation of a Pressure Washer, with a value of$394.79, Donated by the Friends of Kona
Community Aquatic Center for Exclusive Use at the Kona Community Aquatic Center.
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
