Home My WebLink AboutRES 579 Draft 01 2012-2014COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 579 14 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF EQUIPMENT (CHAINSAWS) FOR USE BY THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is donating twenty (20) STIHL MS261 18" chainsaws, valued at $12,936.58 to the Hawai'i Fire Department; and WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized by the Hawai'i Fire Department to complement their capabilities during emergencies that require tree branch removals to enhance access capabilities and for wildland firefighting operations; and WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai'i County Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and WHEREAS, the Hawai'i Fire Department recommends the acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai'i County Code, the Council of the County of Hawai'i accepts this donation. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this resolution be sent to Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, Attn: Robin Peters, 3400-8 Kori Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257 acknowledging this generous donation.
