The proposed amendment is illustrated below in the Ramseyer format, There are several positions identified under the Salary Ordinance 14-84 that will be affected by this change. As such, we are required by law to raise the salaries of positions paid at the minimum wage level to meet the new rate of $7.75 per hour effective January 1, 2015. Furthermore, as the affected positions are primarily the Student Helper I, we are recommending to increase the pay for the Student Helper II level from $7.75 per hour to $8.25 per hour. Due to the pressing need to implement the mandated changes by January 1, 2015, we are requesting that this amendment be waived from the Committee on Finance and placed on the full Council agenda at the earliest possible time.
