RESOLUTION NO. 583 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND
FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL
MANAGEMENT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO COOPER CENTER COUNCIL FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF WATER TANK AND STORAGE SHED AT THE VOLCANO
TRANSFER STATION.
WHEREAS, the Volcano community is desirous of obtaining a 10,000 gallon water tank to
support coqui frog eradication and as back-up water tank for the Volunteer Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the Volcano community is desirous of obtaining a shed in which to store
eradication equipment and citric acid for coqui frog eradication; and
WHEREAS, the Cooper Center Council, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, will volunteer to construct a
water tank and a storage shed; and
WHERAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency
Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting county department/agency via resolution
identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service,
equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to
the Department of Environmental Management to provide a grant to Cooper Center Council for
the construction of water tank and storage shed at the Volcano Transfer Station; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:
