RESOLUTION NO. 585 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR PLANS AND DESIGN OF PHOTOVOLTAIC
SYSTEMS AT KAMANA SENIOR CENTER AND AUNTY SALLY KALEOHANO'S
LUAU HALE.
WHEREAS, Kamana Senior Center ("Kamana") and Aunty Sally Kaleohano's Luau
Hale ("Aunty Sally's") are two of the Department of Parks and Recreation's("P&R") most
heavily used facilities; and
WHEREAS, P&R strives to provide facilities for the public to use that are comfortable,
clean and easy to access; and
WHEREAS, Kamana and Aunty Sally's are used year-round, and are hot and stuffy and
uncomfortable during most of the year, depending on weather conditions; and
WHEREAS, P&R would like to take advantage of modern technology and is considering
installing photovoltaic systems in these two heavily-used facilities; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to
the Department of Parks and Recreation for the plans and designs for photovoltaic systems at
these two facilities; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:
