RESOLUTION NO. 586 14
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE
CHILDREN'S JUSTICE CENTER OF EAST HAWAII FOR SUPPLIES.
WHEREAS, Friends of the Children's Justice Center of East Hawaii is a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit organization that assists the Children's Justice Center of East Hawai`i to provide basic
needs for abused and neglected children in East Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, the Children's Justice Center of East Hawai`i is in need of additional
supplies to continue to meet the basic needs of its clientele; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports the programs and goals of the
Children's Justice Center of East Hawai`i; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to
the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of the Children's Justice
Center of East Hawai`i to purchase supplies for the Children's Justice Center of East Hawai`i;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:
