COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />-4 OF N, <br />OF•MF,r► <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />601 14 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO HAWAII <br />COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR MOUNTABLE RADAR FOR COMMUNITY <br />POLICING OFFICERS IN DISTRICT 2 <br />WHEREAS, Community Police Officers ("CPOs") strive to create a safe and secure <br />environment for our communities; and <br />WHEREAS, this goal is accomplished through the use of various crime prevention <br />efforts; and <br />WHEREAS, speeding and other hazardous traffic problems are constant problems in <br />many communities; and <br />WHEREAS, the use of mounted radar by CPOs will allow the officers hands-free <br />monitoring of the speed of vehicles as the officers go about their daily mission, thus providing <br />them with another tool to provide safe and secure environments though out our communities; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to <br />the Hawaii County Police Department, to provide funding for the department purchase four (4) <br />mounted radar units to be used by Community Police Officers in Council District 2; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $6,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC - Contingency Relief $6,000 <br />
