Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 305
reports as follows:
Bill No. 305, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. Lee, via Communication No.
1101, dated September 19, 2014, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-279,
Schedule 27 (Parking on pavement prohibited at all times), subsection (F), Kona, of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) by adding new item and renumbering as
required:
O Marlin Road
( ) Ono Road
This amendment fulfills a request to restrict parking on Marlin Road and Ono Road due to
people parking and encroaching into the travel way.
Mr. Kanuha reiterated the testimonies provided by two area residents that people do park in these
narrow and very congested roads. He stated that restricting parking will help with the safety
concerns in the area.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bill No. 305, and recommends it passage on first reading.
