Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 309
reports as follows:
Bill No. 309, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. Lee, via Communication No.
1106 dated September 19, 2014, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 6, Section 24-288,
Schedule 36 (Freight loading zones), subsection (c), South Hilo, of the Hawai`i County Code
1983 (2005 Edition, as amended)by deleting existing item (4) and renumbering as required:
(Cl) Furneaux Lane, southeast (Puna) side, from a point sixty three feet northeast of Keawe Street
and extending thirty two feet in the northeasterly direction, twenty four hours a day, seven days a
week
This amendment removes the freight loading zone that is impeding the use of the adjacent
property owner's driveway. The subject driveway was formerly not used, but due to change in
ownership and new use of the space, it is necessary to provide clear access to the driveway.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bill No. 309, and recommends it passage on first reading.
