Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 310
reports as follows:
Bill No. 310, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H. Lee, via Communication No.
1106 dated September 19, 2014, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 6, Section 24-288.1,
Schedule 36.1 (Active loading and unloading zones), subsection (c), South Hilo, of the Hawaii
County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) by revising existing item:
(4) Punahou Street, northeast (makai) side, from a point fifteen feet northwest of Mamo Street to
a point sixty nine and extending ninety feet in the Hamakua northwesterly direction.
This amendment fulfills a request to lengthen the active loading and unloading zone area in the
heavily used part of downtown Hilo in an effort to provide more space for loading zone
activities.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Bill No. 310, and recommends it passage on first reading.
