HomeMy WebLinkAboutRES 604 Draft 01 2012-2014J+�v us COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII '� >E of.N►.M RESOLUTION NO. 604 14 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING /APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WATERS OF LIFE NEW CENTURY PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE PURCHASE OF A CERTIFIED KITCHEN WAGON TO PROVIDE SCHOOL MEALS FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN NA WAI OLA PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL. WHEREAS, Na Wai Ola public charter school, located in Mountain View, has identified the need for a certified kitchen wagon, as funds for school meals will no longer be provided by the state Department of Education; and WHEREAS, the Waters of Life New Century public charter school, also known as Na Wai Ola PC S, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides schooling with a mission to provide a first class private school education in a nurturing environment, which ensures academic success for all students at a public school price; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports this appropriation as it provides a daily, healthy meal to students, encouraging healthy habits, leading to a healthier lifestyle, and assures the students will have a nutricious meal in school, especially for those not receiving regular meals from home; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2- 139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department /agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Waters of Life New Century public charter school to assist with expenses associated with the purchase of a certified kitchen wagon to provide school meals for students enrolled in Na Wai Ola public charter school; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred /appropriated as set forth below: FUND: GENERAL AMOUNT OF APPROPRIATION: $10,000 OUT AND FROM: 010.101.5101.91 CREDITED TO: 010.251.5251.39 Clerk - Council SVC — Contingency Relief $10,000 Department of Liquor Control $10,000 Public Programs 115 Misc. Contract Services (Waters of Life public charter school — Certified Kitchen Wagon) BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
