Pursuant to Hawaii County Code (HCC) Sec. 3- 22(a), I am forwarding Waipi'o
Cookhouse's revised drawings and application for a sign variance. The owner of the
property is Colleen Gold and the applicant representative is Larry Vidlak whose phone
number is (808) 775 -1814. The owner is requesting a sign variance for one ground sign.
The proposed ground sign has been revised following the Committee on Public Works &
Parks and Recreation on October 14, 2014. As depicted in the attached revised
drawings, the proposed sign, facing Honoka'a/Waipi'o Road, is eighteen (18) square
feet in area.
The maximum allowable area for ground signs in agricultural districts is eight (8) square
feet per section 3- 12(a), Chapter 3, Hawaii County Code.
