STATE OF HAWAII 607 14 A RESOLUTION EXTENDING THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL'S SINCEREST GRATITUDE TO COUNCIL MEMBER J YOSHIMOTO FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII. WHEREAS, J Yoshimoto has represented Council District 3, South Hilo (Waiakea Homesteads and Waiakea-Uka) and Puna (Kea`au, Kurtistown, Orchidland, and Mountain View), from December 2006 to December 2012; and WHEREAS, due to redistricting, Council Member J Yoshimoto was placed in Council District 2 serving portions of South Hilo (Waiakea-Uka, Kaumana, Pi`ihonua, Wailuku, Downtown, and Bayfront), which he represented from December 2012 to December 2014; and WHEREAS, during these past eight years, Council Member J Yoshimoto has participated on all Standing Committees and served as Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Parks and Recreation (2006-2007), Chair of the Committee on Food and Energy Sustainability (2007-2008), Chair of the Committee on Agriculture, Water and Energy Sustainability (2010-2012), and Council Chair (2008-2010 and 2012-2014); and WHEREAS, Council Member J Yoshimoto has consistently and unwaveringly demonstrated personal dedication, leadership, integrity, commitment to excellence, and outstanding public service to his constituents and to the general public throughout the County of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, as Council Chair, Council Member J Yoshimoto has treated all council members with the utmost respect, exhibiting an unbiased and impartial approach in his decision making; and WHEREAS, Council Member J Yoshimoto deliberated issues with patience and consideration, and avoided conflict, instead seeking to find balance in order to implement sound policy decisions that are in the best interest of the people of the County of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, Council Member J Yoshimoto's professional and thoughtful demeanor provides a model to be emulated by legislators on the county, state, and national level; and WHEREAS, Council Member J Yoshimoto will complete his term of office at noon on Monday, December 1, 2014, having compiled an exemplary attendance and voting record for all Council meetings held during his years in office; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it hereby extends its sincerest gratitude to Council Member J Yoshimoto for all his years of service and offers its best wishes for his continued health, success, and prosperity. BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a true copy of this resolution to Council Member J Yoshimoto. Dated at Hilo , Hawai`i, this 1st day of December , 2014 .
