RESOLUTION NO. 608 14
A RESOLUTION FROM THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL EXTENDING SINCERE
GRATITUDE TO COUNCIL MEMBER ZENDO KERN, FOR HIS YEARS OF
SERVICE TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, Zerndo Kern has represented the western portion of Puna (W.H. Shipman
Industrial Park, 9'/z Mile Camp, Keaau Ag Lots, Kurtistown, Mt. View, Glenwood, Orchidland
Estates, Ainaloa, Hawaiian Acres, Fern Acres, Eden Roc, Fern Forest Estateas, Mauka of Pahoa
Town, Kaohe Homesteads, Kamali`i Homesteads, Kalapana, `Opihikao, Kahena, Kaimu) from
December of 2012 thru 2014; and
WHEREAS, during these past two years, Council Member Zendo Kern has participated
on all Standing Committees and served as the Chair of the Committee on Planning and as the
Chair of the Committee on Environmental Management; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Zendo Kern has consistently and unwaveringly
demonstrated personal dedication, leadership, integrity, commitment to excellence, and
outstanding public service to his constituents and to the general public throughout the County of
Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Zendo Kern will complete his term of office at Noon on
Monday, December 1, 2014, having compiled an exemplary attendance and voting record for all
Council meetings held during his years in office; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it
hereby extends its sincere gratitude to Council Member Zendo Kern for his years of service, and
offers its best wishes for his continued health, success, and prosperity.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit a true
copy of this resolution to Council Member Zendo Kern.
