RESOLUTION NO. 609 14
A RESOLUTION FROM THE HAWAII COUNTY COUNCIL EXTENDING SINCERE
GRATITUDE TO COUNCIL MEMBER BRENDA FORD, FOR HER YEARS OF
SERVICE TO THE COUNTY OF HAWAII.
WHEREAS, Brenda Ford has represented Central Kona (Nap6`opo`o, Captain Cook,
Kealakekua, Kainaliu, Keauhou, Kahalu`u, H61ualoa) from December 4, 2006, through
December 3, 2012, and the greater Volcano area, Ka`u, South Kona and a portion of North Kona
from December 3, 2012 through December 1, 2014; and
WHEREAS, during these past eight years, Council Member Brenda Ford has
participated on all Standing Committees and served as the Chair of the Committee on Public
Works and Intergovernmental Relations (December 2006- June 2009); Vice Chair of the
Committee on Environmental Management (2006-2008 and June 2009—December 2010); Vice
Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Parks and Recreation (June 2006-2008); Chair of
the Committee on Food and Energy Sustainability (June 2009—December 2010); Chair of the
Committee on Finance (2010-2012); Vice Chair of the Committee on Public Works and Parks
and Recreation (2010-2012); and Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Mass Transit
(2012-2014); and
WHEREAS, Council Member Brenda Ford has consistently and unwaveringly
demonstrated personal dedication, leadership, integrity, commitment to excellence, and
outstanding public service to her constituents and to the general public throughout the County of
Hawaii; and
WHEREAS, Council Member Brenda Ford will complete her term of office at Noon on
Monday, December 1, 2014, having compiled an exemplary attendance and voting record for all
Council meetings held during her years in office; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that it
hereby extends its sincere gratitude to Council Member Brenda Ford for her years of service, and
offers its best wishes for her continued health, success, and prosperity.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County of Hawaii transmit a true
copy of this resolution to Council Member Brenda Ford.
