We support the application of Hawaii County's laws regarding tobacco smoking to electronic smoking devices. We further support including "electronic smoking devices" in the definition of "tobacco product" and "smoke or smoking," and to prohibit the use of electronic smoking devices in the places where smoking is prohibited. Electronic smoking devices (ESDs) should be treated similarly to other tobacco products and restricted to the same sale, distribution, and display requirements as cigarettes and other tobacco products. KTA treats ESDs in the same manner as cigarettes. Customers and employees are not allowed to use ESDs in our stores and are restricted to smoking ESDs to designated smoking areas. We urge you to pass Bill 302. Sincerely, Barry K. Taniguchi Chairman & CEO KTA Super Stores
