A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING /APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR A STEALTHSTAT TRAFFIC SURVEY
DEVICE.
WHEREAS, the Hawaii Police Department uses StealthStat, a pole- mounted radar
device and computer that collects anonymous data for the purpose of monitoring traffic on a
given street over the course of several days; and
WHEREAS, StealthStat is an efficient and effective way for the Police Department to
conduct traffic surveys to determine where traffic enforcement operations or traffic calming
devices are merited; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department needs an additional StealthStat device to conduct
traffic surveys in Area I, especially in the Puna District; and
WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to
the Police Department for a StealthStat; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
following amount is hereby transferred /appropriated as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall forward a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
