I am writing to express my support for the resolution urging our Environmental Management Department to
increase our solid waste diversion rate, as recommended in our County of Hawaii Zero Waste Implementation
Plan.
I would love to emphasize my support for this legislation in person at your Environmental Management
Committee meeting, and I will do my best to be there, either in Hilo or via teleconferencing in Pahoa. I need to
run our business, though, so I am not sure I will be able to get away long enough to offer my testimony.
This resolution and the requests made therein our key for our island's sustainability and pursuit of zero waste.
Please vote in favor of this resolution.
