MAHIAI ROAD — 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT

We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1. Speed Limits,
Section 24 -254, Schedule 2. 20 mile per hour limit, Paragraph (g) Puna be amended by
adding new item and renumbering as required:
!) MAHIAI ROAD, FROM AMAUMAU ROAD TO ITS SOUTHWESTERN
TERMINUS.
This amendment is being proposed as a part of the request to review and possibly
increase the speed limit along Wright Road. Mahiai Road is located in the vicinity of
Wright Road. The subject 20 mph speed limit is justified due to the narrow condition
of this section of Mahiai Road. Mahiai Road currently does not have any speed limits in
the Hawaii County Code.
